For the Poncho, only army types are allowed. If you do not have, please go and buy as the poncho will last you till sec3.

SiHui Dear all,

With your exams now over (or nearly over), I sincerely wish everyone good luck in getting your desired grades. :)

Now that exams are gotten over with, everyone should be able to fork out some personal time to commit to Red Cross - the Main CCA of many of you here. We understand that study always come first -- also applies to us VIs -- but now that the Common Tests/Mid Year are done, we really hope that everyone of you -- Committee and Members -- can work together for an experential and enjoyable camp, now less than two weeks away. The objective of a camp is simple -- One where everyone is able to interact together and get something out of your time spent here with us. Such lessons are important skills towards personal development that can be learned no where else.

It is now Tuesday, four days to AOP (Approval of Proposal). We do not wish to drag the planning stage of the proposal and take up precious time any longer. So, give us, VIs and YOs, and all of you, the committee and campers, a proposal of hard work and effort of everyone involved in its planning. Do it once, do it right and we'll move on. If we do find any faults in the proposal, please take it kindly and make necessary corrections -- we seek a thoroughly considered and planned camp, that benefits both the committee when executing the camp and the campers who would enjoy the thoughtful activities. We are not here to make things difficult for anyone. We went through it before and found it pointless; it would only serve to demoralise the entire unit.

Hopefully, my two cents (two big paragraphs in fact) would serve to motivate.

Please finish up your proposal by THURSDAY for compilation as the VIs would need to vet it on SATURDAY, 17th April. ATTENDENCE IS COMPULSORY ON SATURDAY! NO excuses will be entertained.

Please print out copies of the proposal for Yirui and Chin Kheng for vetting on Saturday. As for me, please send me the proposal to my email once you finished compiling so that I could pass my comments to them by Saturday.

All of you please do cooperate with each other on the contribution to the completion of the proposal. Remember, EVERY EFFORT COUNTS. I do not want to hear, or see anyone not contributing anything. You have to be efficient. The earlier you finish it the earlier you could concentrate on other stuffs right? You should also take note that you guys still have to go through quite a number of accreditations before your camp.

WAKE UP! Only 15 days to your camp. Stop being selfish and start on your duties TODAY. Make sure ALL of you prepare and know your proposal well before AOP. Also, plese do keep yourselves free within this short period of time before camp, whether it is during the day or evening for your AOP as well as the accreds.

i am pleased to announced that TWO of HSRCY cadets managed to be shortlisted for the final SYF selection this Saturday, 10th May 2008.

they are: Tai Qiao Ni and Yap Jia Ying.

the instructors had created a SYF blog, so please do check it regularly as the detail of trainings and rehearsals will be posted on the blog. here is the link: rcysyf2008.blogspot.com.

for those who did not get through, do not be discouraged as there are much more events that you can participate in. for those who managed to get through, i wish you all the best and hope that you will be one of the 30 cadets in the main contingent.
