" I don't wanna go for ndp training , my footdrill isn't good anyway" , "oh i prefer first aid , so i think doing footdrill is useless" Don't all this sounds familiar? Well I'm hear to
share a short inspirational post. I hope it does motivate some of you yeah?(:
In this world , there is only 2 type of people , they are the learners and non learners.
Learners and non learners are known as failures and winners to some.
Some qualities of learners is that whenever they fall they say " hey , this is tough but
i am enjoying the challenge. "Then they will go on trying and challenge the impossible.
To them , every possible now was an impossible .On the other hand , for non learners
they are afraid of falling . So they will stay at there comfort zones , doing things
that they are good at. As times pass by they will realise they have not learn anything
new.
Life is a journey , and the destination does not matters AT ALL. What truely matters
is , have you learn anything? What's the point of doing something
which you are so good at over and over again. Challenge yourselves daily , make
everyday a meaningful one (: So redcrossers , i want those that are already alright
in one skill , move on to the other. You never know who you really are , if you
don't even bother to try. With effort , everything is possible. Which baby learn
to walk the day he is born? One's success is not determined by what you like ,
or what you are good at , but by continueous effort to improve urselves(:
I hope you all learn sth from this post (:
Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.

FIRST AIDERS ON WHEELS PROGRAMME
The First Aiders On Wheels Programme is a programme which engages our Red Cross volunteers whom are first aid trained to provide first aid cover at East Coast Park. The programme would requires the volunteers to patrol on bicycles along East Coast park (use cycling track @ East Coast Park) to be on the look out and provide first aid for the visitors of East Coast Park. The coverage area would be from Area B (Big Splash area) to Area F (Xtreme Skate Park area). Coverage days would be on every Sundays & Public Holidays (subjected to availability of our volunteers), 2pm to 7pm.
In order to allow our cadets to gain more exposure to first aid coverage as well as involvement in the services of SRCS, we would like to introduce the programme to the cadets as well. As such, we would like to extend the invitation to the cadets in the RCY units to be involved in this programme on the following dates;
(1) 23 Aug 09,
(2) 30 Aug 09,
(3) 20 Sep 09,
(4) 21 Sep 09
The programme would provide possible opportunities to practice on the first aid skills that they had acquired as a Red Cross Cadet. The cadets would be supervised and guided by RCY VIs, or adult volunteers during the first aid coverage.
* This First Aiders On Wheels Programme is only for secondary 3 cadets and above who has obtained Standard First Aid Certification. You must be able to cycle and is medically fit.
Do remember to tag on the tagboard if you are interested in going for any of the above programmes.
